Over the past 30 years the number of students enrolled outside their country of citizenship has risen from 0.8 million worldwide in 1975 to 4.3 million in 2011.
By the year 2020, there will be approximately 5.8 million international students worldwide, and by 2025 that number is expected to rise to 8 million.
